Sana Suisse Med AG visited the 12th DRG Forum Switzerland – Germany. The congress was characterized by exciting presentations and valuable discussions.
What new business models are possible for hospitals? How can a sustainable ambulantization strategy be implemented? What incentive system is needed and how can all stakeholders pull together?
Similar questions arise in both countries: What does the future of the healthcare system look like? What can be done on an outpatient basis and how should it be remunerated? What incentives need to be set for this?

Switzerland seems to be a step ahead. They are already implementing innovative products and new business models. They report on how entrepreneurial action in the healthcare sector – together with the health insurance funds and politicians – can work. The focus always remains on the patients, and the outcome quality and cost-effectiveness improve.

Thomas Lemke, CEO of Sana Kliniken and Vice President of the German Hospital Association, outlined what fairer and adequate remuneration should look like. This revealed a great need for discussion with politicians.
